Box office possibilities aside, the soundtrack is not write-off material but nothing to write home too with only awful, average and alright on its menu.

In the ultimate analysis, Bodyguard is an out-and-out Salman Khan film meant to be taken in the festive spirit of the season. Love it or lump, chances are that its backers will be laughing all the way to that bank while you, if you aren’t willing to give
And since it's all about, 'Mujphe ek ehsaan karna, ke mujhpe koiehsaan mat karna,' here's a two and a half star rating from me.

If you have watched Siddique's Bodyguard already, there is still every reason why you should go for Gopichand Malineni's Bodyguard.  If not for anything, to watch Venkatesh and Trisha deliver restrained performances.  For all its romcom feel and action caper atmospherics, Bodyguard is a pleasant emotional rollercoaster pepped up by the cinematic elements such as music.    Frankly, in an era of ostentatious and overblown potboilers/thrillers, this film offers the much-needed break and relief.  There is no exaggerated heroism, no artificial emotions, no synthetic dialogues, no forced scenes and no pointless interludes.  This heart-warming emotional journey is subdued and quintessentially slice-of-life.

Bodyguard  is the hit machine Siddhique's ninth go into the Mollywood Box Office and this time too, he doesn't falter much in creating a good drama. Though in a not much inspiring storylines, he had managed to shape it as a decent entertainer, which may click with the masses, if promoted with grandeur

When it comes to being punctual and doing his duties perfectly, Lovely Singh [Salman Khan] is unmatchable....

Bodyguard has nothing to do with the Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner love story from 1992, though it does concern an attractive woman and a man hired to protect her, and is a towering geyser of sentiment.

Actor cum politician Jaggesh in his latest film 'Bodyguard' has showed that he is a good performer in emotional roles. Known for witty dialogues and histrionics Jaggesh is no doubt 'Govinda' of Kannada cinema. In this film 'Bodyguard' he has a different role to perform with first half giving usual Jaggesh.

Remember Salman from the days of 'Bandhan', 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun', 'Hum Saath Saath Hai' etc. where he could do nothing wrong and was always there for his loved ones? Not just that as he spoke every word only after going through it in his mind and never once mouthed anything that could be offensive to anyone, be it the ones known or unknown to him.

First half of the film is okay. The movie gets interesting from the point when heroine starts calling hero anonymously. Second half sentiment works. Bodyguard is a tailor-made character for Venkatesh. The plus points of the film are interesting screenplay in second half and the main leads. On the flip side, more interesting narration in first half, fast paced narration and a crispy climax would have made this film more attractive. On a whole, Bodyguard offers what you expect from Venkatesh’s films with an interesting twist in end. Bellamkonda Suresh who is on roll with successive hits might get lucky again with a script that worked across the languages.

Salman Khan has done many things in these five years. Singlehandedly, he has ensured that the masala quotient in Bollywood is increased, he has brought back the exuberant expectation that would be in the air when a big budget Bollywood movie would release
