t’s a cocktail all right. But one that looks better than it tastes.
Sonia Chopra, SIFY
As the two girls in the rigmarole, Deepika Padukone (first-rate) and debutante Diana Penty (pretty good), make a fair fist of the job of getting an array of emotions across during breaks from cavorting through the streets of London and having a good time
We must thank it, thus, for Diana Penty.

There are several reasons why Cocktail was one of the keenly-awaited releases this month; the music was hugely popular, Imtiaz Ali – directed of Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal – is credited as the story-writer and the film is directed by Homi Adajania, who last

Homi Adajania’s Cocktail has much in common with those films. It’s astoundingly good-looking, filled with seductively-shot songs and fun montages of friends doing goofy things together.

What strikes most about 'Cocktail' is the sheer freshness that it brings in. Whether it is the shot execution, dialogues, situations, scene placement or the way characters handle situations (well, at least for most part of the film), you can pretty much make out that here is a team which is trying to make a difference. Ok, so it won't be fair to say that there is an envelope being pushed to a major degree.

Editor Arunkumar's debut flick as director 'Cocktail' is faithful remake of the Canadian flick, the Pierce Brosnan starer 'Butterfly on a wheel'. Though the scripts has even converted some of the dialogues from the original for the Mollywood flick, the director and his crew has certainly succeeded in planting the movie in Kerala landscapes with needed believability.
