Darling - All Reviews

Overall, Darling is a break from the average Bollywood movies and all the current trends. There is definitely a market for Ramu movies and Darling will work well amongst those audiences. It certainly doesn’t live up to Bhoot’s intriguing storyline but it

Entertaining from the time of 'Tholi Prema' till 'Ullasamga Utsahamga', director Karunakaran has always tried to make the audience smile. With 'Darling', he has not disappointed viewers who are looking out ways to relax this summer.

First half of the film is not interesting. Second half gets better. The movie is good towards the last half-an-hour. Karunakaran didn’t stick to his strengths and tried to make an entertainment oriented film with a hero-centric approach. The plus points of the movie are Prabhas and a few comedy episodes in the second half. On the flip side, the Swiss episode and lack of regard for story mars the movie. We go to Karunakaran movies to watch his kind of work, not the kind of work the routine commercial directors dish out! We have to wait and see how Darling fares at box office this summer.

The humour sprayed all over the movie never lets up and manages to pull itself up to present a decent entertainer

The second combination of 'Alemari' Santhu and actor Yogish in 'Darling' although not haunting like the previous one it is engaging and entertaining and of course 'Paisa Vasool' cinema.

With the tag line that reads "A killer love story" Darling thrills just a bit and turns out to be an average in every department.

In nutshell, Ramu's 'Darling' will deliver better results and a possible recovery from the aftermath of worthless and insignificant 'RGV Ki Aag'

There are films where ghosts scare people with ugly faces, scary mannerisms and eerie surroundings. There are films where ghosts scare people with sheer dialogue delivery that continues to haunt you way after the film's screening is over. And then there are films like DARLING where ghosts stay on to be 'perfectly normal' with standard dialogue delivery, normal facial expressions that never once go over the top and no 'suddenbehind-the-curtains-experience'! Actually so 'normal' does an entire situation seems that as an audience you tend to laugh at the situation (and at the protagonist) rather than being scared at all.

n Subramaniapuram’s success spawned a whole host of Madurai-based gangster films? It’s as if Tamil filmmakers sat up suddenly and concluded that the reason for the film’s success was its setting and genre. A few years later came Raghava Lawrence’s horror film Kanchana: Muni 2 that again, went on to become a huge hit. The industry folk immediately changed their stance, and decided that the Tamil audience was now primed for horror. Ghost after ghos
