Dhanak - Movie Reviews

Even though Dhanak stays mysterious till its last scene, it gets too repetitive to hold your interest. Its soulful music, heartfelt style of narration and of course, delightful kids can't make this half-baked story soar.
Times of India
And depending on which side of logic you are, you will either love it because 'the kids are so cute' or step out for coffee ever so often, come back and discover that the journey has gone nowhere.
Shrewd message for a film that’s not perfect, but is all heart

This is no award winning material, but it is well worth a watch. It proves that the happily ever after notion may be overused and old, but it still gets the job done.

Business Standard
Thanks to its use of fusion, Dhanak slowly grows on you. And, who knows, Chotu and Pari may help you in shedding that tough exterior you’ve been burdened with.
Hindustan Times
Not Salman or Shah Rukh Khan, but Chotu aka Krrish Chhabria is the real hero of this Nagesh Kukunoor movie
Despite these glitches Dhanak, which pins its hopes on Bollywood and its hero, is a lovely film
Deccan Chronicle
The film's one-dimensional storyline desperately seeks conflict but only ends up straying from uncertainties, much like Ram Gopal Varma films evade a steady camera.
Pune Mirror
'Dhanak' looks like a much simpler and subtler story of a fan who has utmost faith in the superstar
International Business Times
A delightfully performed feel good road flick
Glam Sham
Nagesh Kukunoor’s latest film is a heart-warming story of two orphaned siblings on a delightful and adventurous journey
A lot of credit for making this film so endearing goes to the child actors' performances.
Good children’s films, or those with children at the centre, are often as unknowingly profound for adults as they are obviously engaging for kids. Here one stayed invested and smiled along only because of the adorable actors, with Bollywood references adding to the cute appeal. But it needed a lot else.
The Hindu
Nagesh Kukunoor’s heart warming film is a must watch for everyone, including Salman and Shah Rukh Khan!

Five reasons that make 'Dhanak' an interesting watch
Times of India
Of the cast, Hetal Gada as Pari is superb, playing the exasperated elder sister to the hilt. Krrish Chhabria as Chotu has the glint of mischief in his eyes, but both he and Gada are let down by a middling film that tries too hard.
