A Message To Fans
Great Andhra
In the pretext of delivering a message, Ohmmkar tried to force in a half baked product in to audience’s throats. The movie is reportedly made with a mammoth budget and it appears like Producer’s first outing in industry is a complete mishap.
Tollywoodandhra
‘Genius’ reflects the mindset of several people who were deceived, go overboard and madly follow and worship their favorites. The message in the story is not convincing and the verdict too is not praise worthy.

Telugu Mirchi
Ohmkkar annaya, was not particularly enjoyable on the small screen but his presence behind the screen tells us that he has the potential to handle movies on the big screen. His narration was obnoxious and the plot was not well portrayed too. His comeback in the second half however is commendable.
Andhrawishesh
The absence of visionary leadership at the helm has ensured that there is an unacknowledged policy that promotes talented youth flock to the US, thereby putting our dream of becoming a knowledge power in jeopardy.  Besides, parasites and vultures people the field of politics, fully taking care of exploiting all sorts of identities and resources to empower and enrich themselves and their cronies.  Chinni Krishna, living in an India like this one, must have directed his creative anger against such a leadership and suggested real solutions to productively use the untapped potential of the largest youth population.
India Glitz
The film takes off well with few good notable dialogues but the lead stars performances will never make you connect to the scenes. Few of the scenes involving Brahmanandam, Sarath Kumar scenes in the first half and a series of murders may create some interest but the inconsistent screenplay and untimely songs test the patience.

Genius... Are you Serious?

Omkar’s Genius is message oriented film. He failed in the narration of first half. First half of the film is somewhat boring. Movie has un-situational songs. Brahmanandam’s comedy episode is good. Film story moves forward in the second half. Experience and maturity of Paruchuri Brothers dialogues can be clearly seen in this film.
SupergoodMovies
Ohmkkar fails as a director and his handling of the plot leaves a lot to be desired.

Omkar on his debut came out with powerful script with strong message to students.
Searchandhra
This movie will be an eye-opener for all fans who are advised against indulging in hero worship.
The Times Of India
One expected Ohmkkar to come up with a better conclusion to the story. This has an ambitious title but doesn’t quite require a Genius to direct it.
The Hindu
The first half of the movie creates a great interest and the second half tries to give a message with the framing of flash back scenes which are very impressive and make enough feel. The comedy on the reality shows against the profession of Omkar is really appreciable and made a hilarious scene.

Genius is a romantic-action movie and Chinnikrishna's good story, Paruchuri Brothers' dialogues, Joshua Sridhar's music, Diwakaran Raghunathan's camera work are its highlights. But poor direction and sluggish screenplay with lots of illogical sequences and forcibly placed songs mar the beauty of the wonderful subject.
OneIndia
Three close friends Havish, Ashwin babu, and Vinod are through thick and thin right from their childhood. First half is incomprehensible with kidnaps and songs at the wrong times. Havish dreams to see Pradeep Rawat as an MLA, Ashwin would never say no to his Havish. Vinod has his own weakness, his sycophancy to Chinna Babu. After a few plot twists that you won't have a lot of trouble guessing, their lives turn upside down. The hilarity and message from the movie are best watched on Screen
Andhra & Telangana Wishesh
Genius is a movie that has been let down by bad execution. The basic concept and the message that the film tried to convey are laudable, but they fail to make an impact here. Except for Sarath Kumar’s performance and Brahmanandam’s funny cameo appearance, there is nothing in this film.

Genius shows how idol worship spoils the life of students. Three students blindly follow, adore and worship a cricketer, a film actor and a politician and when they find out their true colours they feel completely let down and how they react to this truth is the content all about. Omkar who is known as a host of a reality show directs the film and Havish who played one of the heroes in Ravi Babu’s Nuvvila is the main lead.

The movie takes off well with few good notable dialogues but the lead stars performances will never make you connect to the scenes. Few of the scenes involving Brahmanandam, Sarath Kumar scenes in the first half and a series of murders may create some interest but the inconsistent screenplay and untimely songs test the patience. The second half falls flat and the climax is quite disappointing.

Genius sent strong message to diehard fans on hero worship and it has to be seen how it will be received by masses. Overall it is a poor execution.

SouthNews
Into the very first attempt as a director, Omkar picked a meaningful and message orineted storyline (do not indulge in human worship) of Chinni Krishna which requires strong conviction in narration.
Cinejosh
Omkar on his debut tried to be different but created the same mistakes which many make in trying to highlight their creativity on screen. His idea of sending message to fans is OK and the subject is fine. Till first half he went with the job professionally.
AndhraHeadlines
That, we can’t take
Chirtamala
The idea of sending a message to the audience is good but such things work only when the script is handled finely and the scenes are in proper sequence. The first half is rather confusing with so many things happening and there is confusion. Only the second half gets into some momentum and tries to make some sense of what is happening.
BharatStudent
The main message of the film is worshiping a human is wrong. It is an attempt to wake up those who are ready to give their lives in crazy fan feeling. Whether this attempt will connect to the families of the victims or not, to those who don’t have such connect will find this as major hammering. Usually Chinni Krishna’s stories have some mass elements.
