No Repairs, Only Spare Parts Needed…Koratala Siva touched an old story with wafer thin script and clichéd scenes. The central conflict between protagonists and antagonists (sometimes a local Mumbai MLA and Sachin Khedkar in Hyderabad) haven’t got any strong register value.

Janatha Garage turns out to be emotional mirage.Koratala might have been in dilemma as a director but as a writer he scored good marks. He lost plot as the film which started on a high note with saving the environment becomes settling family scores with routine climax. Villain role too did not highlight the film. Lack of commercial, entertaining elements robbed the viewers of enjoyment.

First half of the film runs in a passive mode till the leads meet at interval. Second half has a few engaging scenes, but becomes flat as climax approaches. Plus points of the film are NTR, Mohanlal and characterizations. On the flipside, an engaging conflict point and emotionally charged climax/pre-climax is missing.

Janatha Garage is not your regular popcorn entertainer which Tollywood churns out every week. It is a character-driven film where the onus is on serious emotions. Though NTR performs brilliantly, Mohan Lal gets a prominent role and this might not go well with NTR’s fans. The film will appeal to the general audience more than the fans. Finally, if you ignore the predictable story line, you may give this film a shot. But keep your expectations in check.
