Laddu Babu - All Reviews

Although this is not a complete Allari Naresh or Ravi Babu styled movie, Naresh's hard work with the fat man's make up and all and the concept makes it worth a one time watch only !!!
Laddu Babu [Allari Naresh] is a soft spoken and kind at heart guy. He has a greedy father Kishtayya [Kota Srinivas Rao] who wants to marry him off to some retard to lead his rest of the life in Goa. But Laddu Babu wants to love and marry a girl of his choice. Then he sees Maaya [Poorna] and falls for her, however Maaya moves close to Laddu Babu so as to make her would-be jealous

An art movie-like fare with a distinct touch. Maybe, the film would've done better without Ravi Babu.
Laddu Babu is not tasty as Tirupathi Laddu.Allari Naresh did an fantastic job as Laddu Babu. Well, we have seen the make up photos, but his efforts should be credited and the way he carried himself in the film is amazing. Poorna sizzled a lot and showed a lot of glamor while Bhoomika did a decent job.
Laddubabu is a good feast to all the people, who love to watch films coming out with inventive ideas.
Laddu Babu is that kind of film which disappoints both the fans of Allari Naresh and Ravi Babu as well. It is neither entertaining nor a differently made film. The biggest irony is that the deleted scene which comes during the end credits is more interesting than the whole movie. Do not waste your weekend over this Laddu!
Rotten Comedy Babu!
Interestingly, in the entire film, the only interesting scene is labeled deleted and shown along with the credits. Actually, the director who is known to experiment with his films should have tried it the other way round. He should have retained that one interesting scene, and labeled the rest of the film as deleted and run it along with rolling titles
Laddu Babu is a disappointing film that will not work at the Box Office. People expect light hearted comedy and fast paced storytelling in Allari Naresh’s films and these things cannot be found here. The disappointing story line and illogical screenplay spoil the experience further.
Better for Health atleast ! This Laddu is not so tasty…… !

I Luv Cinema
A film featuring a predictable plot and sluggish narration/screenplay always tests audience patience, the same is happened with this Laddu Baabu as well.
The strong point of movie should have been the sentimental attachment between Laddu, Murthy and Madhavi. In fact, this is the basic plot which must spin the emotion in second half while story wise, first half moves nowhere. With excessive liberties taken, Ravi Babu’s voice-over dominated the characters and this voice has become a primary character in story filling the logics. Despite all these, patrons failed to enjoy the movie and its flow. For audience of any centre and even commercially, ‘Laddu Babu’ has nothing sweet to offer.
Neither Entertaining nor Engaging
Ravi Babu tried different plot to strike gold recreating the magic of Allari. However his story fell flat as the first half of the film is quite slow and second half sails through at snails pace towards a dragged climax.
The filmmaker tries to fashion a heart wrenching drama out of the movie but ends up churning out a snooze fest. To make matters worse the rather amateurish prosthetic make up of Allari Naresh does little more than make him look like a caricature. His performance is restricted to the dubbing we're afraid. Kota Srinivasa Rao and Bhumika Chawla carry off their roles pretty well but to no avail.
The Times Of India
The second half takes a different turn and is filled with more of melodrama and sentiment with hardly any comedy. Overall, this is a film which could have worked if focus on humor was more. At the box office, the openings will be good for obvious reasons but success is very unlikely.
First half of the film is slow and second half drags. The treatment of_x000D_ the film is different but the way thin storyline is dragged to the_x000D_ core makes audience get frustrated. The problem areas are the writing_x000D_ and the narration. The writing is not sharp or humorous enough and the_x000D_ treatment is just too soft to make for an interesting meshing. This_x000D_ film is just a bit too dull to entertain. The different type of_x000D_ narration to a typical thin storyline don’t really win you any points_x000D_ at the box office, Laddu Babu is a good example of that.
