Doesn,t she deserved a better treatment.. With all of the earmarks of being a serious and thoughtful drama written and based on the real life story of Lakshmi (played by Monali Thakur), a 14year-old girl who was kidnapped from her village in Andhra Pradhesh, forced into prostitution who fights back and wins the case against her traffickers.

The very talented director Nagesh Kukunoor is back with another realistic outing in the form of ‘Lakshmi’. Starring the Talented singer Monali Thakur, this film has hit the screens today and so let’s see how it turns out to be.
Bollywood 3
First half of the film is OK and the scenes before interval _x000D_ are good. The second half divulges into a entirely different _x000D_ flashback episode. There are certain good moments in _x000D_ the film and has got orientation towards masses and _x000D_ family crowds. However, the VV Vinayak could not blend _x000D_ in Venkatesh’s family image and Vinayak’s _x000D_ mass taking in a smooth way. The biggest advantage of _x000D_ this film is that Lakshmi is the only mass film for _x000D_ the entire season of Sankranthi which gives good market _x000D_ penetration in C and D centers as well in the first _x000D_ week itself.
Idle Brain
Family values and sibling love are themes that never go old in Telugu cinema. And if there is right treatment for it, it can also be very interesting. And it sure gets in Lakshmi.
