The movie might not be as hard-hitting as 'D-day' or highly patriotic and entertainer like 'Baby', but nevertheless has its own style and merits to cherish

Phantom - All Reviews

Manipulating the 26/11 horror into an oversimplified 'Jalebi 'revenge, Kabir Khan's 'Phantom' starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif is a clear example on how easy and over simplified is this on screen response. Insaaf Ki Jalebi.. wanna some..

On the whole, PHANTOM is a good action film which runs high on patriotism and will appeal to every Indian worldover. Highly Recommended.

The cinematic representation may not be convincing, but it does entertain

But once the movie gets underway, you realise that the disclaimer was just that – legalese. The story itself may be fiction, and the good guys may not really exist, but we all know who the bad guys are in this caper
A must watch interesting film!

Watch this film. Flaws aside, it talks of a real concern facing all of us, even while taking a flight of fantasy.
You leave the hall with a feeling wish this could be true, which is nothing but the cash line of the film.

This is like watching a different version of Baby just that the agenda is different now.

Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif’s latest tells a gripping tale!
At one point the politician, who surprisingly remains a cardboard figure here, suggests that such ideas work for those who decide geopolitical issues on Facebook posts. He is right!

Go for this one for some chill and thrill!
After Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kabir Khan shells out an edge-of-the seat thriller with Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif!
Rukmini Chopra, Bollywood Life
If you too, somehow were a part of the dreaded 26/11 mishap, you would, just like me, would absolutely want this Kabir Khan to be true in every sense
Neha Prashar Gupta, Bollywood3
The action and thrills stay right through to the end.
The end result is a film that remains watchable, but with such a deep rooted and controversial message at its core, deserved to be much more than the one that was eventually meted out to us
Jay Mamtora, Bolly Brit
Based on former investigative journalist S Hussain Zaidi's Mumbai Avengers, Kabir Khan's Phantom was never meant to be a great piece of cinema.
Overall, Phantom, with all the interesting twists and action, has turned out to be a movie worth watching this weekend
Phantom' is the latest Bollywood movie to wage war on behalf of India
Nandini Ramnath, Scroll.In
Kabir Khan needs a loud shout for his brilliant directional skills. After Bajrangi Bhaijaan, he has again given his best. In a few of the scenes, he gives the goose bumps to the audience, with the way he narrated the story. He perfectly captured the feelings of the Indians regarding 26/11 attacks, and portrayed them well on the screen.

Phantom is a film that knows where it is going, but has no clue how to get there.
And, if you're still licking the wounds of that senseless Mumbai massacre, then Phantom is the balm you should reach out for.

Saif Ali Khan-Katrina Kaif Thriller Is A Gripping Watch
With exquisite cinematography, charming shots and stellar stunts, Phantom scores as a terrific, taut, crisp, nail-biting thriller that will easily be unmatched for a long time to come

It’s emotional but never manipulative
Kusumita Das, Deccan Chronicle
Phantom offers action and revenge but not of the mindless variety. The violence is always far enough that you can turn a blind eye to it. Pakistani civilians are shown to be innocent and humane (some great performances here), even if the establishment is not. This is a film that entertains, engages and offers “insaaf”, without ever becoming too serious or too sentimental.
Phantom stands out to be a entertainer
Galaxy Reporter
After Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Salman Khan, a lot was expected from filmmaker Kabir Khan with his recent release, Phantom. Starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, this venture sheds light on the 26/11 attacks that took place in Mumbai in the year 2008 and speaks of a story, ‘you wish were true.’ It presents a take on how justice could have been brought to Indians post these horrific attacks. 7 years later, the culprits still haven’t been caught, let alone convicted, which is precisely Phantom’s point. If I had to sum up this venture in one word, I would call it powerful. Here’s my review of the film:
Rukmini Chopra, BollywoodLife
It’ll be more poignant than 147 minutes of Phantom.
Gayatri Gauri, First Post
Phantom movie is about the post-26/11 attacks in Mumbai and global terrorism and is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book “Mumbai Avengers”
Filmi Beat
Phantom should have been a far better film had the idea been converted to celluloid to full potential. It is just about watchable.
