Pizza 2: Villa - All Reviews

Though the film starts with slow pace in the first half, the director maintained a neat twist rather than a horror or a thrilling chill. The film could be a scientific invention. The film will no way compare to the first part of the film Pizza.
The Villa is a competently-made film that shows that horror, as a genre, will click with audiences if done right
M Suganth, CNN-IBN Live
Pizza 2: The Villa is more a scientific invention than horror thriller and exactly nothing to do with Pizza. One will surely have a thought of this as Villa - Pizza 2 is being promoted as Pizza sequel and a horror film.Technical crew of Villa - Pizza 2 lead by director Deepan Chakravarthy has done great job, not only script wise but also visually far above compared to big budget and stardom movies. Director has precisely depicted his research works on positive and negative energies in the initial scenes and the way Ashok Selvan exposes link between his father’s paintings and his life are intelligent.
The film is an underdog that deceives you to eventually finish as a winner
Haricharan Pudipeddi, Hindustan Times
In all fairness, Pizza 2: Villa has some nice moments in the end that you can take along. The director has succeeded in creating an ambience where you are not certain whether to believe the intriguing happenings. The initial sequence in second half creates a totally different mood and that is an intelligent move, considering it is a deviation from the style of the Pizza.
Don't expect scary moments, frightening scenes or thrilling twists that we normally expect from a horror movie. 'Twist' in the climax is not that effective. The debutant director creates the mood but doesn't provide 'thrill'. Both the lead actors are pretty ordinary in looks and in performance skills. But, it is well shot, crisply edited movie. In nutshell, it is a decent supernatural thriller.
‘Villa (Pizza 2 ) ‘ is a decent supernatural thriller. It has nothing in common with ‘Pizza’, so do not go in expecting similar levels of horror or entertainment.
Do not head to the screen with prejudice or bias, for 'Villa' is a new bottle with recent wine. Riding high on a lot of facts with a pinch of superstition, 'Villa' is a clear, quick and clean entertainer.
Watch 'Pizza 2: Villa' without any expectation and enjoy the thrilling ride

” ‘Pizza’ ane oka cinema release ayyindani ,a movie ni meeru chusarani oka 2hours marchipoyi ‘Pizza-2(Villa)’ chudandi , Then you will feel the real taste of this second slice Perfectly ”
The film is about a struggling writer Jebin (Ashok Selvan) whose dream is to publish his book and has a doubt that his dream might remain only as a dream. After the loss of his father (Naazar), with the help of advocate Jebin gets to know about the ancestral property of Villa left behind by his father far away in Bheemili.
Villa is a Tamil dubbing film, but it does not feel like one. Lots of care has been taken while dubbing it into Telugu. It has been covered in CG without any glitches. If you like horror genre, then this one’s for you.
eepan Chakravarthy continued from where he left in Pizza. The film is realistic and the story treatment is good. Nowhere the director supported superstitions but tried to give scientific explanations. He restrained himself from showing gory scenes to get those horror effects. Over all the film though lacks the horror quotient of Pizza, it has its own thrill factors.
Pizza 2: Villa is a technically griping and well-crafted supernatural thriller. Don’t compare with highly successful first-outing, the film has its own plus points to impress movie buffs.
Overall, an above average movie. Watch the movie without expectations. The fans of Horror movies will not enjoy this movie. All over I can say “Give it a try"
Ashok Selvan is an actor who suprices his audience with his story everytime. Ashok Selvan has given a matured performance as Jebin an aspiring writer. His expressions are very apt to the situations.
Though the film has been touted as Pizza 2 it is not a sequel but a mere new edition of horror tale. So comparison cannot be made. Still, the film has enough to entertain the horror and thriller seekers. The first half goes on a moderate pace and takes time to pick up. The interval bang was very good and the second half has enough twists to hook the audience
Director creates a story teller. Presenting an completely new concept, with the majority of science elements. The first sequence in second half creates a totally different mood and that is an intelligent move, considering it is a deviation from the style of the Pizza. Deepan has narrated a brief entertainer.
Villa has a wonderful script and excellent technical team to its support. Good star cast could have taken it to another level Verdict: Pay 'Villa' a visit!
Villa (Pizza 2 ) ‘ stands out as a decent supernatural thriller. There’s nothing in common with ‘Pizza’, hence do not expect the spine chilling moments you got when you had the earlier slice of “Pizza”.Those like watching suspense thrillers may enjoy. may see once

'Pizza 2: Villa' is a welcome break from all the mushy romantic comedies that have been flooding the market this year
S Saraswathi, Rediff
Coming to the tastes of Telugu audience, fundamentally we demand more of spine chillingly horror and thrilling components or else lot of twists and turns when we speak about this particular genre of films. Strictly, ‘Villa’ does not fit tight into the legacy established by ‘Pizza.’ Yet, it’s the combined team effort of Deepan and his efficient technical team makes ‘Villa’ worth a one time watch, if you have time to spend. If you are a vivid horror movie-goer who watched the recent blockbusters in Hollywood like ‘The Conjuring’ or ‘Insidious Chapter 2,’ then this nothing for you.

Direction Deepan after scaring all with Pizza, came with Villa. He selected simple and realistic script and finetuned it to perfection giving no chance for any loopholes. His negative and positive energy concept keeps viewers glued to the screens. Those who love thrillers with less scarry effect would love the film.
‘Villa (Pizza 2 ) ‘ is a decent supernatural thriller. It has nothing in common with ‘Pizza’, so do not go in expecting similar levels of horror or entertainment.
Villa (Pizza 2) is a thriller that doesn’t try to horrify you with forced effects. It uses the subject of Nostradamus kind of predictions encrypted in a form of art. This film has limited starcast and limited locations. And it’s a film of 102 minutes duration (1 hour and 42 minutes). The makers have used Pizza brand to promote this film. But it has nothing common with Pizza film except for the genre. Pizza is more commercial and more thrilling. Villa (Pizza 2) is recommended for movie lovers who have a taste for different cinema.
