Sikander is an earnest and well-intentioned film. Set in Kashmir, it looks at how violence and the Kafkaesque politics and power games of the state have frayed the lives of its children.
On the whole SIKANDAR doesn't quite hit the goal.
This one fails because the child and his warm ambitions of playing football or buying for his aunt a washing machine are just cursory mentions. The filmmakers focus instead on the supposed politics of the region, a lame conspiracy, and some larger comment

It’s always feels terrible to slam someone’s work that is dribbling of makers sweat and blood. But this film will make you sweat. It is vastly tedious to watch something as foolish as Sikander. The direction wanders in every direction only to culminate into a pointless ending. The music and cinematography are major highlights of the film. Sikander is low on content, overhyped and predictable. A lot better film was possible with such a brilliant star cast. On the whole, We couldn’t find a single half engaging-entertaining moment in this cinematic rape perpetrated by Linguswamy. Do tell us if you could.

Sikindar is an underworld revenge drama. It is all about Raju Bhai (Suriya) and his best friend Chandu (Vidyut Jammwala), local dons, reigning in Mumbai. As expected, the city gets a tough cop and he has a naughty daughter (Samantha). The confrontation between cops and Raju Bhai’s gang is an expected phenomena.
Sikindar will remain as a bad memory for Suriya for various reasons. The director even failed to do justice for Raju Bhai’s role, the film’s protagonist. Despite giving much hype, build up to Raju Bhai’s role, director failed to live up to hype he generated, failed to establish Raju Bhai, his right doings, what made him star among masses. That’s not all. Right form beginning to the end, the movie is filled with umpteen flaws. Not even the climax could satisfy you. For your health reasons, we strongly suggest you to stay away from Sikindar.

On the whole, Sikandar is one film which starts on a entertaining note, and bogs down completely during the second half. Suriya’s stylish looks and Samantha’s glamour are the only plus points. Rest of the film is quite predictable, and makes up for a watch only for Suriya.
