Wazir - Top Reviews

Having said that, this is a movie that should encourage more filmmakers to go all out, and take on thrillers without reducing them into song-and-dance projects. And, for that, we are thankful for 'Wazir'.
Sneha May Francis, Emirates 24 X 7
So on an overall basis, 'Wazir' is a good dramatic thriller with loads of emotional connect and fantastic performances. The movie could have been in the list of top thrillers from our country only if the screenplay wouldn't have been bit predictable and convenient towards the end.
Divya Solgama, Cine Markets
Fortunately, Bejoy concentrates on dramatic presentations of realistic scenes
Watching Farhan Akhtar and Amitabh Bachchan joust and manoeuver around each other is this film’s high point
Shubhra Gupta, Indian Express
You guessed right. The powerful, taut Amitabh-Farhan chemistry is the best thing about the film
Sonia Chopra, Sify
Hop on board Farhan, Amitabh's emotional, intelligent roller coaster ride
Subhash K Jha, First Post
Wazir is at best a one-time watch, if only for the academic interest of viewing Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar in the same film.
. But the writing is King of the game in a film. The technique is merely a pawn. You can sacrifice the pawns but not the King.
Rachit Gupta, Filmfare
This thriller isn't merely predictable, but depressingly drab
Raja Sen, REDIFF
'Wazir', is a solid start, a gripping thriller anchored by Bachchan and Akhtar’s compelling compatibility
Subhash K Jha, First Post
I’m going with two-and-half out of five

Wazir' is a good, one time watch.

Both Akhtar and Bachchan flesh out a beautiful relationship between Danish and Panditji very convincingly
And then with the second half of tiresome explanations and almost laughable action sequences, the film simply freefalls into tediousness.

We'd have loved to lose to the storyteller and have all our guesses proved wrong by the time the end credits rolled, but sadly, this game leaves a lot to be desired

Wazir boasts of fine performances from Amitabh Bachchan & Farhan Akhtar but it isn't really the taut thriller that it could have been.
Sethumadhavan Napan, Desi Martini
In a nutshell, I would say the film that showed some initial promise could not maintain the same tempo till the end. Still as a thriller and as a Director’s film, Wazir is a recommended film from me with a personal rating of three out of five.

Bejoy Nambiar is one preeminent filmmaker, who Bollywood has always been proud to have. From 'David' to 'Shaitaan', Bejoy has proved his worth every time and this time around, he comes up with a action thriller in the name of 'Wazir' supporting a stellar star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar and Aditi Rao Hydari. The movie hits the theaters today and no less is expected from it. But, to ours and everyone’s shock, 'Wazir' can easily be called a below average work of Bejoy. Why? Read on to know...

‘Wazir’ may not be impactful as a thriller, but certain sequences and the convincing performances makes it a watch-worthy movie.
It’s an emotional thriller with an ending that you can see from a mile yet is impactful. Watch it once. It won’t hurt.

On the whole, Wazir is a movie that was made with a smart mind and some extremely intelligent actors, but the predictable plot makes it tepid and can be only watched if you have nothing else to do.

On the acting front, Amitabh Bachchan nails it as he usually does and Farhan Akhar is competent. They could have done wonders with a better script.

On the whole, WAZIR, despite boasting of some of the great performances, reasonably fails to leave the desired impact because of its convoluted script
Bollywood Hungama
Both John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh seemed to be not so up to the mark. Cinematography is very good, editing is horrible, as there are several scenes which can be cut off. Music is not up to the mark and the production values are ok. Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Abhijat Joshi, the people behind the prestigious movie like PK, have failed to put an exquisite movie on screen, this time.

Starts promisingly, unravels badly
The only thing catchy and sensible was that the title of the movie Wazir was used a lot in the film by connecting many scenes of the movie to the game of chess
If you can survive the boredom of the weaker moments in the movie, you might just be left intrigued with the power of its crackling climax.
