Arshad Warsi’s a comic genius and soars above his fractured Shammi. There’s never a misplaced note, as he single-handedly makes even the inane and quirky moments work in ‘Welcome 2 Karachi’

Producer Vashu Bhagnani comes up with a yet another master trash film, after giving us trashy aces like 'Humshakals' and 'Himmatwala' due to which this movie should be renamed, 'Lunatics No.1'
Divya Solgama, Moviez Adda
It’s not easy to make a non-stupid film with two stupid characters at its helm. Welcome 2 Karachi pulls off that daring feat without falling flat on its face.
Only the foolhardy would underestimate Bollywood's ability to do worse, but it is unlikely that you will see another film this unabashedly daft this year. Resist the itch.

The producer of 'Welcome 2 Karachi', Vashu Bhagnani, wanted a Thursday release because May 28 marked the release of his 1999 superhit, Biwi No.1. But surely, Bhagnani, who has been in business for so long, knows that a lucky release date alone isn’t enough for a film’s success… or does he?
Vishal Menon, The Hindu
Arshad, and to an extent Jackky, solely carry the film, if one takes things for granted and don’t seek logic and reason behind every joke.
So if you have nothing that you are looking forward to do this weekend, go watch it at a theatre near you.

This no brainer is a fafada time of crazy goofy mindless fun. 'Welcome To Karachi' is an odd mix of buffoonery with a tang of reality.

My deepest apologies to all of them on behalf of Bollywood.
Mihir Fadnavis, First Post
Welcome 2 Karachi‘s single biggest problem is that its main characters are annoying. Almost every character who meets Shammi and Kedar eventually tells them to shut up. If everyone else in the film finds them that irritating, imagine how annoying they must be to a bored, confused audience.

Even with a fairly witty concept and a decent first half, Welcome To Karachi remains half baked. A little work on the story and technical aspects could have done wonders for the flick.
